Principal's Message

Dear Phillips Families,

Thank you to everyone for coming out to attend our first Celebration of Learning on November 4th. We had the mojority of parents here on campus to hear directly from students about their learning and goals. I was so impressed by how well students did in presenting to parents. A special thank you to the PFC board members Maria Meza and Ivania Zamudio and their families who sold hot chocolate to keep us warm on the chilly fall evening! We plan to continue this conference format and would love to hear any feedback that parents might have. Please let me know how you thought the event went.

As evidenced by our new conference format, this year at Phillips, we are spending considerable time supporting students in setting, tracking and achieving their personal and academic goals. The more ownership students have over their learning and the more they can articulate where they are headed and what the plan is to get there, the better they will do! Please take time out to talk with your child at least weekly about the goals they have set and their progress toward achieving these goals.

I would like to wish all of our Phillips families a very safe and happy holiday season. Enjoy the Winter Break and please take time to read with your children. We are sending home a Winter Break reading log for students to complete followed by a drawing for special prizes when we return to school in January.

Best wishes for a Happy New Year to all!

Sincerely,

Mr. Manning

PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT

Parents are encouraged to volunteer and support their student's classroom. Work can be done in the classroom, after school or at home.
Our project based learning program offers many interesting jobs like sharing your work experience, judging student presentations, and helping students with hands-on tasks like the electric circuits shown in the video below,

Technology helps students learn at their own pace
